Corolla E10 Induction Kit.

Hi giys I thought I'd share some info on how to build an induction kit for your corolla for less than half the price of the ones sold in shops. Ok you will need to go and buy yourself a RaceX universal air filter - here is the link

http://www.prosport.uk.com/acatalog/RaceX.html

Then you will need to buy a short aluminium pipe that will fit onto the throttle body. You might need some adaptors from http://www.prosport.uk.com/acatalog/RaceX.html to fit the pipe onto the throttle body(or filter on the pipe, depends on the diameter of the pipe), or get yourself a bit of silicone pipe.

Then you will have to drill 2 holes inside the pipe to accommodate for crank case vapour pipe and temperature sensor.

Before fitting the pipe to the throttle body, cut small grooves at one end of it(about 8mm - 10mm no more), so that it will be easier to tighten the jubilee clip on the pipe, in order to make sure that it doesn't come off! :o

Then you will have to extend the temperature sensor wiring by removing it from its original plastic casing (really thick casing where a number of wires go through) and then just pulling it a bit closer to the throttle body.

You will need to tape everything back up, as it was before you opened the original thick plastic casing.

Now you could plug everything in. That is crank case ventilation pipe, air temperature sensor, and the induction kit.

It is up to you if you want to feed cold air to the filter or not, as the opening of the heat shield on the filter is 100 mm in diameter. Instead of spending money on small bore aluminium ducting, get down to B&Q or Homebase(although b&q will be twice as cheap) and buy yourself a bathroom ventilation pipe. Basically it is just a 3m long 100mm in diameter piece of aluminium ducting. And guess how much it costs? £4.99!(£10 in homebase) :D

Here is the link to see what I'm on about

The internet prices are wrong, as I've bought a 3m ventilation pipe for £4.99 this week from B&Q!

I will post some pics of my induction kit A.S.A.P.

Anyway have fun

 You can search for aluminium pipes on the net. Also check out building merchants etc. A good place is Avery Knight and Bowlers, down in Bath. They specialise in engineering & building materials. If you want, you can purchase a honda civic short ram induction kit from http://www.hondaformance.co.uk or look for similar kits on eBay, as It looks like it will fit :bye:
