Can anyone help !

I have owned a 92 Paseo for 2 months .The problem that seems to happen is after it sits for awhile it won't start .

You push in the clutch and it sound like the ECU just clicks.

The previous owner said she had this happen and changed the clutch switch and it never happened again.

If you push start the car then turn it off ,it will start up again no problem .Or even if you push the car a bit in gear ,then try to start it, it will crank over .

Anybdy got any ideas.

I'll second that.

Battery first, then starter solenoid

Sounds like the Battery

I had the same problem with my bmw, it would make a tick noise and then with a little push it would start, best thing to do is first check the Battery terminals, make sure they are connected tightly. if this doesnt work then try what PaseoGT4 says.

It has a new Battery !

So then i should check the starter ?

When it doesn't start it won't crank over at all .Just one click, sounds like its coming from down behind the radio.

Thanks Simon

yeah sounds like the solenoid on the starter, id go for the starter if the Battery is good.

It really does sound like the Battery. Are you sure its new and you weren't just told it was?

I was given all receipts from the person of all work done to car. It shows a new Battery.

Well i installed a new starter tonight so i'll know on Thursday mourning if it was the starter, or if i am going to be on a electrical scavenger hunt.
