I am really liking this forum as everyone has beeen really helpful - far better than the X-Trail forum where you have to wait for the same person to reply all the time

Called theToyota dealer today who has this T180 and they confirmed that it has FTSH last serviced in Nov'10 by themselves.

It has had a replacement water pump and catalytic convertor, is an 08 plate with 30k on the clock............really looking forward to viewing it now

Water pump replacement?? I would worry a bit about that.... A leaking water pump may be a sign of a head gasket, pressure builds up in the system and causing the inside pump pressure relief valve to open and purges water out.

Check hoses when starting engine to feel if pressure builds inside.

Hope I've been of some help.

Wardude - thanks for the pictures

Tatteam - thanks for the info but we have now bought the one I had mentioned - we pick it up next Saturday. I checked it all over and nothing appeared to be out of place.

The water pump was replaced 12 months ago and the car has covered 10k since then with no issues.

Over the years I have replaced water pumps on turbo petrol & turbo diesel cars & have never experienced any other issues after replacing the pump.

It has FTSH, will have 4 new Bridgestones as they did not have a great deal left on them, drives perfectly, is in top condition and comes with a 12 month comprehensive Toyota warranty so I am not too bothered about things going wrong.

Great, if you have 12 month warranty that should be fine, you should have pleasant driving experience now with your Rav, great car to drive.

Enjoy it and good luck
