Replace Handbrake Cable

Hi Guys

Well I finally got my new tyres fitted today after waiting over 2 months for them to come in to stock.

I also had them check over the brakes as well which turned out to be frozen.

They told me the rear discs & pads are going to need replacing soon and that one of the brackets? on the handbrake cabe has corroded through and that the cable will need replacing (they advised that both should be done).

They are a good garage who I have used for a few years so I know they aren't taking the weewee over the work that needs doing.

Funds are tight though at the moment (nearly £1.50 a litre) so I am considering doing the work myself.

I can not seem to find any guide as to how to replace the hand brake cable so can anyone tell me how to go about doing this preferably an idiots guide :)

Cheers Jim

Thanks for the links Davrav :)

I had already seen them though.

I was just hoping some one could give an idiot (me) a bit more info before I attempt pulling things to bits at the side of the road.

Cheers Jim
