Just as the collection firm was taking the Mercedes away the Prius purred up to take it's place :-)

Looks v nice in the Novus Grey, the black solar roof blends well into the hatchback glass and the dark privacy film completes the look ...

Will post a couple of pictures soon and then take it out for a spin ...

Be back later !!

Great news I am sure you will like your new car. My new Gen 3 should be here at the end of the month. Perhaps we could meet up sometime for a chat about the cars and exchange a few ideas etc.

Hmm ... sorry it's been a while folks ... thought I'd fallen foul of what ColinEL had as site wouldn't let me log back in - 'til I realised I was trying to login with my 'display' name as oppose my 'username' ... doh !!

Have added some pictures but seems it won't display them in the post ... anyone know how to get the images shown ?

Am loving the car - apart from 3 things - 1) forgot to get reversing beep disabled !!, 2) How do I switch off the passenger airbag warning light ? and 3) Liz has taken the car to work in Kent for two days so I'm back to the Land Rover ;-)

There is an picture icon in the editing toolbar (the string of icons above the portion where you type in your message). If you hover the mouse pointer over that icon it will display a tooltip that says "Insert Image". Click on that tool.

To have an image available for the tool to pick up, it must first be hosted on an image website. I'd suggest a site such as Photobucket, as it's (i) free and (ii) has powerful features to help you post images on discussion boards.

All you do is then paste the URL (web address) of the image into the "Insert Image" tool I mentioned above.

I suggest you "Preview Post" before submitting it.

Hope that helps

Congrats on the new car -

Alas you can't turn off the pasasenger airbag warning light (the one above the gloveboxes.

Its a tad annoying granted when you first get the car (especially at night) but im sure you'll learn to live with it :)

Definitely! thumbsup.gif I'm up for that gents. I'm just around the corner from you all.

Jont, looking very good. That novus grey really sets off those LED headlights, I like the agressive look of them. I'm certain I'll be jealous of your solar roof come the nice weather.

Enjoy.

You can of sorts. If you switch the airbag off, you get a different warning light lit up.

Looks very good Jon. I will let you know when I get my Gen 3. It would be good to exchange tips etc on a meet up locally with you and Doesn't Exist..

I need to know what the very latest map update is for the 2011 Gen 3 Sat Nav. The dealer promised it would have the latest update but I need to check it is fully updated when I collect the new car. I tried the web site for the latest update but it requires what current version is installed. Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards Chris.

Hi Chris,

Coincidentally I am going down to my dealers on Monday to have the very latest update. I will then post on here what the latest map data is.

Stompe

Thanks for the replies.

Jon. I have a Gen 2 Prius with DVDs so it is no use quoting info from my present Sat Nav to get updates for the Gen 3 Prius.

I need to know the latest map data for the 2011 Gen 3 Prius. So thanks Jon for your info.If you could let me know Stompe after your trip to the dealers what you get updated to that would be great.

I can then do as you suggest Jon to check if the Sat Nav is up to date on delivery of the new car at the end of this month.

Can we trust the dealer who tells you all new cars arrive with the latest Sat Nav maps? From previous Gen 3 owners experiences on this forum it would appear we can't.

That is the latest map/gracenote version for the Gen 3 (hard drive) satnav ...

Chris, it is sad that the dealers themselves do not know the current version of the sat nav. I was recently contacted by the Customer services people to tell me the latest version was ready for updating on my vehicle, I asked if the mistakes were corrected on the new version...Names of Towns and Cities improperly given on the verbal directions.......they did not know and are checking......still waiting for the answer from the Customer services........waiting...and waiting....

To be fair, if I understood correctly when that happened it was a new model with a system not in any Toyota before and Toyota is reliant on their map providers. It was launched and manufactured prior to that update.

I think Toyota was a bit remiss in accepting the system before it had any idea of what was involved in updating it. If this is really the case, Toyota should be suing the pants off the navigation system supplier.
