Power Steering Eps Unit

Hi,

Just dropped the kids of to school and was about to drive of when the power steering suddenly failed. The dash board had the p/s symbol lite up and text on the digital display was telling me I had a power steering failure. Very disappointing for a 2007 car with less than 40,ooo kms.

Anyhow, the bad news is its 840.00 euros (incl vat) to replace a the faulty EPS unit. This is my second costly experience with the Auris.

How does the price sound to you guys? and is this a common problem for the Auris/toyota?

No warranty or anything? If its just the part that is expensive then see if you can salvage a used one from a insurance write off - may save a few pennies?

trouble is as its a farely new model,they are a bit thin om the ground,but he may lucky.
