With the advent of water-based paints on cars these days, the amount of stone chips must have rely gone thru the roof.In an effort to cure it has anyone come across or used Chipex,I have been on their website and it looks too easy!!!!!,but rather than do an amateur job I feel it seems to do a very reasonable job.I really would appreciate some feed back on this.

Depends on the chip being repaired IMO. Lots of the smaller chips can be corrected with an electric polisher and be made to look more than acceptable by rounding the edges. For deeper chips, touch up paint applied in multiple layers and wet sanded back will give a perfect result but can be time consuming.

Having looked at their [Chipex] instructions, I can't see much difference from the method advised in the instructions provided with the official touch up paints that most manufacturers supply. The secret is the use of a tiny brush [or cocktail stick] and, as Blue says, building up the layers.

Check paints4u as they supply matched paint repair kits (touch up stick included). . I used them on my old Mini Cooper S and they were a perfect match, not the expensive either if I recall
