No Sound From Horn

Hello Everyone,

Just taken delivery of a used 2009 Avensis Tourer 2.0D from a main dealer.

The horn doesn't work. I've checked the manual which mentions that you should check the adjustable steering wheel has been secured - so I checked this.

Where is the fusebox and is there a fuse for the horn? before I hassle the dealer and waste time driving over there.

Thanks

Jonny

PS it's under warranty

The manual should tell you the fuses and location and use. Most definite check is with a meter to see if 12 volts reaches the horn when button pressed.

Possible the horn is duff... the contacts can need adjusting sometimes (an old fashioned simple fault) but tbh it should all have been checked prior to handover... so mention it nicely to the dealer and ask why it wasn't.

I've checked the manual ...

Hi,

If you have the manual but still can't find the fuse box, don't touch anything while the car is stil under warranty.

If you make a "mistake" somewhere in the electronics trying to make a repair, the dealer will reject any claims for consequential damage.

Take care.

Straight back to the dealer for you my friend. Let them solve it - better safe than sorry.
