Yaris Wheel Arch Protective Film

Hi,

I have been scraped by another car and have some quite large scratches on the shoulder area around my rear wheel arch on the passenger side.

I have a 2002 yaris, and these wheel arch shoulder areas at the back seem to have a kind of adhesive sticker around the area which matches the body colour. These stickers are on both sides at the back and I imagine are there to offer extra protection on the area, as it iss likely to get scratched.

does anyone know where I could get replacements of these, or know anything about them at all?

Or are these protective films in fact clear?

If this is the case, I will get a body shop to paint the area, but will still need replacement films to apply afterwards.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of these, and there parts no.s?

Thanks

Thanks a lot.

Hopefully will be able to just have the damaged section repainted, and not pay for a large section, as the damage is right on the rim almost.

If i were to fix up the paintwork myself, does anyone have any advice for removing the protective film + adhesive residue before I begin painting?

Please let me know, thanks!

Gently heat the film with a hairdryer and start peeling from one corner and follow with the heat from the hairdryer as you go along until all the film is removed, any remaining residue can be removed using a dedicated adhesive remover (Tardis,3M,Loctite etc) or WD40 and the like, then degrease fully before painting.

Hope that helps!

Thanks, that worked great - it is all cleaned up and prepared now.

Just waiting for the paint to arrive and can patch it up.

Thanks again for your advice.
