Mr2 Turbo Water Leak

Hi Guy's

I have a 91 turbo, which recently has been losing water, I now think the water has been leaking into the header tank, as when the engine is off I can here it getting past the rad cap, and now is full up and leaks on the ground, so I have changed the cap and it still does it, I understand how it does it, when I turn the engine off as the water is no longer flowing and cooling the engine, but not sure why, any ideas whats up or anything I can try to sort the problem.

Cheers

Jon

maybe theres either a big air blockage or way too much coolant in - or both.

your car holds 13.6 litres, which is about £30-40 and 2 and a half tubs of toyota red!

not cheap but maybe now is the time to give it some new coolant. at least if u drain it and refill yourself, you will know the correct amount is in.

have a look at the workshop section for info on how to do it (i wrote it :D ).

also remember that when draining your system, u may not get all the old coolant out and may end up putting slightly less than 13.6 litres in.
