Puncture Repair Kit

I have looked under the rear seat and lifted the tray and noticed there are a lot of items for puncture repair. Has anyone used this yet. I see the wheel brace, car lifting jack, towing eye, electric pump, repair fluid etc, but what are the 2 black plates that are hinged in 2 parts for?

They are "chocks" for preventing the car moving when jacked up.I think they become a wedge shape when opened out, but I havn't tried it myself.

If you search back in the forum there have been a few posts by people who have used the tyre inflation system.

I personally carry a spare wheel as I am not too keen on these sealant things, I don't need two rear seats and you would probably have to buy a new tyre anyway, if you used it.(Depending on which tyre repair place you go to to get it repaired, apparently they don't like to work on tyres with rubber sealant in them.)

I looked back and found a few references:

there are probably more.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi, after only owning the iq 2 weeks, got a puncture :(. So looked in manual and tried to trace the compressor from the pic, the dealer told me it was under the seats (over the phone). Finally found it :), under the rear tray behind rear seats, and it was straight forward if you read carefully, and was efficient, and honestly worked a treat. Really pleased in the end. So be assured it does what it says on the tin.
