If it has B9004 on the front, looks like either 86120-42240 or 86120-42241

If it has B9017 on the front, looks like either 86100-42060 or 86100-42061.

The B9017 appeared at the first 4.3 facelift (i.e. D4D 150 engine not earlier D4D 130), I believe. Which exact vehicle model are you referring to?

The model is xtr 2.0 petrol

Do you know if you need a disc for them?

B9004 has a removable dvd based map system.

B9017 has the map data on internal hard disk.

Not sure what you are up to with this, but if you are replacing an existing unit, then it is quite easy. You pop out the silver bits of side trims and disconnect the two switches. Anchorman's ipod "howto", while not the same radio, is still applicable. See:

http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=72652

Then there are just 4 bolts for the radio (careful not to drop them, small hands and/or blue-tak on socket required). It will then just pull out. There is a bit of resistance as it is clipped in, but just pulling is fine.

If you are thinking about fitting a sat-nav into a vehicle with an existing standard radio, are you aware you might run into a few extra things you need to do? For example, you'll need the GPS antenna too. I'm not certain, but things like the wiring and mic for the phone function may not be fitted. I'm not totally certain whether all the existing connectors for the back of the existing radio/sat nav are compatible too. Some almost certainly are, but maybe not all.

There's a B9004 sitting on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-Toyota-RAV4-Stereo-SATNAV-unit-NEW-/120692807750?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1c19da1846

but buying from Toyota, they are silly money and if looking for a new one, you might be better going down the route of a Kenwood, for example. You can purchase trim surrounds tailored for the RAV, which will finish off an installed double DIN unit properly. These units are cheaper and usually give far more functionality than Toyota ones.

B9004/B9017 come fitted from the factory. There are/were dealer/aftermarket fit units available. e.g. TNS700. The installation instructions are here:

http://www.toyota-tech.eu/aimuploads/{64009268-F163-69BF-EF6B-6318648CF163}/TNS700_08545_00950_AIM_001_061_0.pdf

Which might help towards fitting a B9004.

If you give a bit more detail, I or someone might be able to give specific answers, rather than trying to second guess.

Hi All, there's some very useful info here, and at the risk of hijacking the thread, I'm looking to do the same with the RAV-4 that I'm collecting on Saturday. I've bought an '06 plate (newer shape) with a standard radio in it, and have been looking at these:

http://www.autodvdgps.com/7-digital-hd-touchscreen-dvd-gps-navigation-player-with-fm-usb-rds-bluetooth-ipod-for-toyota-rav4-p-481.html?zenid=8sh5kijfep5h6m8thb0buh8t91

Has anyone here used them? Are they tricky to install? By reading the pdf linked earlier in this thread it doesn't seem too bad? Or, does anyone know of any others that are reasonably priced and will fit nicely in the RAV-4?

Thanks :-)

As an addition, I see the site I posted a link to sells parking sensors and a camera too - does anyone know anything about fitting these? Again, anyone with any experience of this would be appreciated :-)

A fellow member called Hoovie did this a while back....not sure if he actually posted anything re installations. May be worth searching his postings/threads as he fair kent his onions when it came to said gadgetry, including reversing camerament.

Big Kev

Edit...see start under Pinned....his was a 4.2 Rav though.

Thanks for the reply. My order has arrived and I'm very happy with how it looks in the box, and all of the parts that it came with. I've chickened out and have a guy coming around on Wednesday to fit the head unit and the reversing camera. I'll post back when it's done :)

Hi i've just purchased an 2007 xtr and also saw the same unit on Amazon seemed a little cheap to me as my other previous ice installs cost considerably more for just a radio so how has yours panned out any problems or glitches yet?
