A Rare "good News" Post!

Hi all, after being on here for a while I've seen alot of negative posts so thought i'd give my positive one! I bought a 2007 Auris 2 litre D-4D about a month ago from a car supermarket. Sent the wife to look at it (possibly a mistake!) as I was busy and i've seen a few of them before so knew I liked them anyway and if this one was as described I was keen on getting it. She reports she loves it and the deals done. I take her to pick it up and it does indeed indeed look spot on so she drives it back home. When she got home the cooling fans running so i'm thinking she's got the air con on but then she says she can't get the heater hot! Ten years as a Range Rover tech has me on the phone straight away shouting "head gasket" at the top of my voice . They say bring it back and we'll look, so I refill the empty coolant and back it goes, conclusion, head gasket. Well i'm thinking here we go this'll be fun, but they say no problem so it's left there and we get a loan car, they're really busy and it could take 2 weeks! Next day I get a phone call from them, we've been in touch with Toyota and they'll do it free of charge That's fine by me, out of warranty ya can't say fairer than that! Picked her up the next week and had a chat with the dealer, they replaced the engine block, pistons, head and all the necrsary gaskets as the head gasket failure had damaged the block and head faces! I think that's top service myself, after reading up on the internet I was beginning to think my Toyota was a bad buy but judging by this service, the 48mpg i'm now getting and how nice the car itself is, i'm glad I went Toyota
