My Heater / Ac Has Stopped Working - Why?!

Hi all,can anyone help!? Female with little car knowledge! My Yaris heater / ac system stopped working yesterday. The local garage thinks it could be the heater resistor - and said they are difficult to locate - surely they should know where they are! I've booked it in for next Thursday but worried they will charge me lots to fix it. After a quick look on You Tube it seems that when resistors go the fan still works on the highest setting but mine is completely dead and the light on the ac button doesn't come on when depressed. I can't afford to have the garage spend hours looking for it. I've changed the fuse but it still won't work. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks. KC

Hi Kath, I think you may have a faulty relay, I have attached a drawing of the circuit which should hopefully help you or your mechanic find a solution..

Best regards .... Pete.

Dear Pete, thanks for this, I've decided to take it to the Toyota dealer repair centre instead of local mechanic - they know the model and should be able to find the fault quicker, I'll take the info with me that you posted. Thanks again.

regards

Kath.
