Rattles.....

I've sent my car in to have its rattle sorted for 2 times now but problems still persists. The rattles are mainly from the dashboard and centre console. But recently, I think the driver side doors are starting to make noise as well. Also, there is some noise coming from the back of the steering wheel, sounds like something is loose in there but the service centre couldn't find whats wrong.

Not sure whether its worth sending it back to the same centre seeing that they have not managed to get it fixed. And having a courtesy car of Aygo is not good as I can't really travel with my baby in it... absolutely no space at all....

Anyone ever have their rattle completely fixed?

One last thing... anyone experienced a noise particularly coming when accelerating at 10-25mph and it has to be at a certain spot on the HSD. All sounds bizarre to me really as I would have thought this kinda noise from engine should be there throughout acceleration rather than a specific spot.

Hi

I did have a chattering noise from the driver's door on my Gen 2. The dealer appears to have fixed this for me and it is much better being nice and quiet

I lived with the noise until it was in for a service.

I also was lent an Aygo and was very impressed but no good for a push chair for my grandchildren! Would make a great second car though.

The early gen3 models built at one certain factory were prone to rattles. The dealers should have details on how to fix these, though the reports appear to suggest that the rattles come back.

Apparantly the problems have now been sorted in cars built from about February last year. No good if you've got a rattler though (like mine!).

Give it a thump or turn the radio up.

I think it's the hard plastic on the centre console when it's cold. Disappears when the interior has warmed up!

(about 5 mins after you start!)

mine never disappear. And if its like what GC is saying, then sending it back in is not really going to help as it would probably just come back? Doesn't sounds like a good solution to live with it having paid so much for the car... though I don't have much a choice now have I?

Aygo is a good car. Its our 2nd car in fact. But its just too small to have a pushchair and car seat in it as it has absolutely no boot space, which is why we got the Prius as well.

Mine developed a rattle from behind the radio which the dealer managed to silence. Haven't found a way to stop my box of mints from rattling (apart from eating them all).

Mine rattles at times as well, but as said mainly when it is cold. I complained about it and typically the dealer service manager went on an half an hour test drive and I couldn't replicate.

I think the theory of a cold vehicle is a good one. Combined with unlined glovebox and door pockets it does feel rather cheap I must admit.

cold vehicle or not doesn't makes any difference for me.... Wife is saying that's the problem of a quiet car... you hear everything... but its just doesn't feels good after paying that much to have this kind of problems...

I agree. Quiet car allowance is for tyre noise IMHO. I drove my BMW 750 from 90k miles upto about 160k miles especially with the double glazing it was just tyre noise. Not even at that mileage a creak in the interior. Definitely think I need to get rid of this in three years.
