Fuel Price And Rav4 Ownership

i had the problem of a petrol RAV and a 92 mile daily commute at 30-33mpg. Couldn't find anything any good to match it, didn't really want to part with it. Solution IQ3, 30 quid a year tax and 50 mpg .IQ3 for the head, RAV for the heart. Insurance cost me about 50 quid extra for the year, with the 2 car on one policy job. And the IQ's a little diamond to drive , spins along the A14 + M6 like a good un.

I saw that thing on chocolate that says the cost has gone through the roof so mars bars are either reducing in size or contain more caramel or fudge. What we need is a specification of a 2011 mars bar and a 2009 mars bar.

Hi gentlemen, just browsing the forum today and saw this post about fuel prices, . £1.36 on the west coast ( Oban area) and rising!. We should hold a couple of boycot days, and no-one buys fuel. It might get the message across to those in power. They would lose a few quid in tax at least One can only live in hope!

Agreed. Unfortunately if you need petrol today, you will still need it tomorrow! So a boycott would simply put off for one day the inevitable :crybaby:

those in power would take no notice at all.

If we could not buy it today AND not replace what we didn't buy, then that may have some effect, unfortunately that ain't gonna happen.

There is an Idea being bandied about on the Net that we all boycott one particular brand of fuel, Lets randomly pick BP, very simply in order to re-coup sales BP will be forced to lower prices till people start using them again, forcing other brands to lower there prices to match BP, you then boycott all Shell stations ETC.. Somebody asked if anyone else is feeling the pinch, I put £135 of fuel in my taxi last week, paid £2000+ insurance (max no claims) road tax £405, garage work for 6mthly MOT £402, cost of council test £377 2xtyres £152.. Yes I am feeling the pinch :help2: Stew.... But I won't be changing my Rav cos I love it..

Is that an obscure satelite TV channel?

Ancs, I am beginning to worry about you  Does sitting lower to the ground when you drive your new eco bubble car nowadays mean that the gravitational field is affecting your keyboard? We need answers- :yahoo:

On the subject of Mars Bars, I was a cash and carry grocery buyer in Plymouth in the 70s when inflation really was nasty. Mars decided to reduce the size of the Mars Bar from something that would look like a doorstep by today's standard rather than increase the price yet again. The grocery trade was up in arms and grumbled summat 'orrible but on the other side of the counter Mr and Mrs Public just kept buying the things. Rip off Britain has always existed cos we don't object to being ripped off. :o

....Talking of gravitational fields, just to wind a few people up, the following really belongs in a TPMS thread, but we like going off at a tangent........

Yur well I'll go to the foot of our stairs. That must be some clever cos I didn't understand a word of it. Still, it must be the only thing that made more sense to me AFTER being put through Babelfish than before.

cheers m'dears
