hi mate

the first thing to do is to install an engine protetor metal sheet underneath. secondly it is big risk to wash by water jet. i used to use a wet wipes for drivers and clean the engine once a month or two.

Why do you want to wash your engine?

just to clean it and to see if their is any leaks etc in it was going to use a steam cleaner on it thank you both
