Cheap Brake Parts

Hi all

I've been researching replacement discs and pads on the internet. I found one site that could supply all 4 corners of my 53 plate 2 ltr T Spirit for £165.....is this too cheap and a false economy? I like to save money but safety comes way, way first. I'm not after high performance vented, drilled or dimpled...sadly those days have long gone.

Recommendations anyone ? All gratefully received.

With only a price to go on its just about impossible to say with any certainty. Your price seems v good but without knowing what make of pad & disc you are getting its impossible to say whether its an awesome deal or whether you are paying for lead discs & carboard pads. Does the site give details of maunfacturers?

I believe they are EBC pads Ultimax I think, not sure about the discs but they're all from Brakes4U.co.uk

Try going onto the MTEC site. I've just bought there Black groved and drilled discs and pads for £215 delivered for my T-180 estate. Great price for all four wheels.

This might help. Add another £25 for black discs all round. Great because you can have Drilled and groved or groved or just drilled for the same price...

I took a look at these on eBay. But they were the standard discs and pads they produced. Very expensive for a plain disc. Think you might be paying for the name, unless you get there top of the range ones.

I bought Padgid discs and pads all round for my car. But they have sent me the wrong :censor: ones! They just dont fit so I'm taking them back!

I highly rate EBC brakes and pads no worries as long as you choose the right colour pads, I use Green but Black maybe a beter option

I found this when buying my discs. Everyone seems to list my 2.0 petrol as having 280mm discs when it actually has 295mm discs. I ordered the wrong size ones at first.

Hi

I went down this route last september to try and save a bit of money and this forum was excellent help. I have a 2004 1.8 Tourer, on a member recommendation I used EBC brakes and they were excellent. Rear pads and discs cost £78.00 inc vat and delivery, if memory is correct the front pads and discs were about £105.00. I didnt get the green pads. I have never changed dics or pads before however there is a member post on this site showing how to do it and the tools you'll need, it took me an hour or so, sorry dont know how to include a link in posts.

When you've done it, phone your local Toyota dealer up and ask them how much they'd charge to do all four corners, it'll cheer you up loads!! Definately not false economy and would recommend.
