Hi everyone,

I've got a 2007 Rav4 which failed it's MOT last week due to excessive give and a knocking noise from the steering column. I've been looking on the internet and it seems a TSB has been issued in the US for a very similar sounding problem. The TSB is Steering Intermediate Shaft Noise - T-SB-0318-08, would this apply to the UK as well or just USA models?

I'm taking it into the dealer tomorrow whom I brought the car but the car is 4 years old and has done 48,000 - what are the chances of negotiating the cost of the repair as it's outside of the warranty period?

recall in the usa are often forced by the courts there,and not omly for safety reasons.pity the it doesnot happen here as well.

as to getting any discounts,all you can do is try several different dealerships and pick the cheapest one.
