to fit the brace I had to move and mod a few bits and bobs,

remove the whole air box to get access to the fuse holder. remove the bolt and put a small bit of wood behind the hole, drill a new hole about15/20mm above the original one. (you may need to unclip the fuse box at the back.

My link

reclip the back in and push down on the fuse box intil the new hole lines up.

slacken off the two bolts arrowed and push down on the cylinder (vacuum to brake master-cylinder)once its down re-tighten the bolts. mine went down far enough but if yours dosnt oval out the holes with a drill and it should be fine)

bend the brake line out the way gently,by putting light pressure along the line.

box up the air box and fit the brace.

jobs a carrot!

Good guide chap!

Where did you pick the brace up from? :)

Nice job!!! Happy cornering!

why is there such a gap between the top of the strut and the bottom of the brace, it doesn't seem to fit flush?

Posted

It's not a big gap. Probably it's because the strut must not get in the way of something else in the engine bay.

Check mine to see that it has both a gap and its distant from the brace:

I think its because otherwise it would get in the way of the brake fluid container (on the left side) and the A/C pipe on the right side.

(sorry for the offtopic red fred).

if you look closely there is spacers welded onto the base of the brac, only about four mm but is enough to leave a gap. its a cusco brac e so i guess its ok. think thats why my std nuts didnt fit right

on the subject of cornering and braces, has anyone found the back end very step-out happy? i was on the way down from skye (the best road in the world)and found the car sideways a few times if pushed. there was the odd pot hole on the corners which also unsettled the car and kicked the back out, wasn't very pleasant! any ideas?

I always thought braces acted the opposite to ARB's handling wise. if anything it should understeer more at the front (having both struts tied together with the bar).

maybe you're just throwing it in the corners harder to test the brace?

nope the brace wasnt fitted on the way down as wasnt sure about the nuts, maybe the brace will help?

Every tuning shop should be able to order it from this manufacturer ;)

I ordered it in the local tuning shop here.

Costed me € 55 (about 40-45 GBP I think).
