Cheap O2 Sensor

Hi all

My code reader came up with a faulty oxygen sensor on my 53 plate 2ltr T spirit. After checking resistance etc found it to be faulty so rang around to see how much a bank 1 sensor 1 would cost. Cheapest price I got was 46 quid. A big difference from the 270 I was quoted by Toyota. Looking at it, it's a doddle to replace but I'm wondering if this is too cheap. I don't know what make it is but I do know that ntk and denso are more expensive.

Do you think it's worth a punt at that price as I'm acutely aware that you get what you pay for these days and it could be a False economy. Has anyone seen them this cheap? It's from my local motor factors.

If you read previous post, somebody replaced it with cheap sensor and after 2 days light came on again. The cheap sensor expired in two days. I am just telling what somebody mentioned here.

Rest decision is yours.

Just thought I'd update/warn about the Denso sensors.

I fitted mine on the weekend and it's still throwing up heater circuit fault codes. Upon investigation it appears that the Denso sensor only has 3ohms of resistance on the heater circuit compared to 16ohms on the Toyoto sensors, which I think is triggering the fault.

Eurocarparts are looking into a replacement but I may have to bite the bullet and buy a genuine sensor instead.

bestseany, are you sure they gave you the right sensor?

Looks like there is a sensor for the 1.8 vvti in the ~3ohm range.

That's the sensor that they have on their website and the only one that they have listed.

It turns out that a genuine Toyota sensor is only £20 more expensive anyway, so I'll fitting one of them instead.
