Replacement Clutch For Gen 6 St202

I've got a gen 6 UK spec st202. The original clutch started slipping at around 108k miles and i got it replaced by Mr Clutch who skimmed (or told me they did) the flywheel as well. It went back after around 12k miles as the clutch had started to judder under load. They said they replaced the clutch with another one (as it wasn't adjustable). Since then the car has done around another 9k miles (spent over a year mothballed in a garage whilst i was abroad so warranty is out of range now) and it's knackered again. Went to pull away quickly at a junction tonight and all i got was a bag full of revs and not much movement. Once the revs dropped it would drive ok and i got a good waft of burnt clutch. It's obviously knackered again. So obviously somewhat miffed that Mr Clutch put not one, but two lemon clutches in it. Not much i can do about that now but i need to get it fixed. I have had a search on here and a DIY job isn't really an option for me as don't have the kit to do it, let alone space to work on the car. Anyone recommend either buying a good clutch (and flywheel no doubt) and will garages fit it for me? I'm in watford area if anyone knows a garage they would recommend.

thanks

I have just brought the same car you have, got it cheap as it needed a new clutch!

It was slipping really badly, even pulling away fairly gently and you couldnt really use any power.

I done the job on saturday and it wasnt too bad, although you will need a mate to get the box in and out.

My car has done 82K and i believe it was the original clutch. My flywheel was fine even though it had been slipping alot???

The removed clutch was really worn though. I got a borg and beck clutch kit online for £85 and it feels perfect now

I was quoted £400 at a garage (VP Autos in Hemel)

i am in much the same position as youself, found a clutch on eBay for £62 (item number: 120588273988 ( gen around £95 ), it may seem obvious but i will ask anyway , have you checked the engine mounts for wear, i have now done this to find excessive wear on top engine mount , previous owner has obviously been ragging the car and caused both the clutch wear and engine mount wear , i now need to replace engine mounts and clutch and cannot find a decent price on engine mounts anywhere. As for recommending a garage , i would by they are in merseyside ( clutchtech )but that prob doesnt help you, i have someone to do thework for mebut a friend suggested that the best idea would be to lookat local colleges for training Mechanics to take the job on , they needthe experience and they arfe dirt cheap ,,,its a longer way round but its better than a bill for £350 :-) let me know how you get on , and if you find an outlet for a new set of engine mounts i would appreciate some help too
