Side Steps / Front Under Run Protector

Does anyone have photographs of a silver 2008+ RAV4 with sidesteps and a front under run protector fitted?

Not entirely sure what the under run protector is? Does it replace the existing part of the bumper, or does it sit on top. ie is it more bulky with its fitted. Also, would there be any point in having a silver one fitted to a silver car - the idea is purely for the looks, and not practicality.

I am aware that it also comes in black. Again, any pics on a silver car?

Re side steps, what do you guys think of these alternatives?

Any thought / opinions are welcome - even if negative. :D

Cheers

Here's an example [it's a T180 so has the wheel arch extensions] SILVER RAV

The Underrun protector is the bit on the lower half of the bumper between the 'Front guard' - it's basically the same as the one that should already be fitted but moulded to fit the guard with no gaps. Held on with four screws and trim tape. A black one would possibly look better on a silver RAV

As for the steps, the ones in your image are similar to what are known as 'Stylish' side steps as made for the 2009 updated RAV and seem reasonably priced

Yeah, I've got some parsley - think I'll go and garnish my front bumper too

My side steps are the exact same aftermarket ones! I think they look great. Also can keep the front mud guards which you can't with the OEM ones.

They are a doddle to fit too.

I did only pay £140 for them however so I would see if you can make them an offer before paying the full £190.

No front guard/protector though I'm afraid.

Nice. Do you have a picture of your car from a bit further away so i can see the whole vehicle? Various angles would be even better (sorry for being a pain).

Right, first purchase made. Getting side steps and scuff plates fitted next week. Managed to get a decent discount from my dealer by merely mentioning signing up to a service plan.

Fancy one of those front guards next.

Also considering having the alloys reconditioned (one of them has a nice scratch on it) and was thinking of having them painted an anthracite colour. Had this done on my silver Civic Type R a few years back and it looked great, so think it would look good on our silver Rav too. Any opinions on the matter are welcome? B)

The dealer on the eBay link that Ross & Ben have pointed out in this thread says that I cannot retain my front OEM mudflaps yet Ben appears to have so now I am slightly confused.

I would like a set of side steps but do want to keep my mudflaps - is this possible and would I end up utilising the same bolt where the mudflap connects to the car as I would for one of the connections for the side steps?

Thanks

Martin

Will they fit as the site says they are for an earlier model? The 2006+ side steps on your link are more expensive than genuine Toyota ones although they are stainless steel

Stick to the genuine ones mate - looks better in my opinion.
