How Much Would You Pay For A T180 Spare Wheel?

As per the title - how much is a T180 spare wheel worth?

Some of you have mentioned in previous posts that you carry a spare T180 wheel in the boot - so how much did you pay or how much would you say is a reasonable amount to pay?

Cheers

Martin

I saw a brand new genuine Toyota one sold on eBay for around £50. Was in mint condition and brand new.

There is one on eBay that Big Kev has pointed out that is stil for sale at £295 + £30 delivery but it does have a brand new Bridgestone tyre, ring & vavle - just seems a lot for a spare wheel or am I wrong?

Hi Martin....how long ago did I "point it out", coz I can't even remember now.....!!! :help:

It's still cheap compared to a new tyre / wheel from Toyota....cost it and see. I paid £200.00 for a used but mint wheel (same type as standard) with a hardly used tyre on it in late 2009. The one on eBay I would presume would also require "signing in" of the TPM valve to the TPMS ecu...?

Big Kev

They are a bargain , however I very much doubt that they would sell me 1 wheel to use as a spare :D but it is a great example of what is out there

I bought an aftermarket wheel and tyre for approx £1oo from a 4x4 shop. It even looks like the Toyota wheel.

That's a good idea  was it an 18" or does it not matter too much if it's a 17" given that it's only going to be used as a spare?

The wall profile of your Bridgestone Runflats is 55....if I remember correctly, the 17" Toyota wheels and tyres are at least

60 or 65 (?), making the actual running circumference not that different, but maybe tyre size expert Marsky will be along soon to contraflict me....he's away in a huff just now coz he's got no snow to play in..... :yahoo:

Big Kev

its a 17 from memory but as long as you make up the difference with a larger sidewall then it doesent matter (its only a spare and to get you to a garage). Anyway look at cars with space saver wheels. They are tiny compared to the actual wheel. My Focus ST220 had a space saver. it had 18 inch alloys with massive tyres yet when I had a puncture I had to pop the space saver on which was more like a bike wheel and tyre.

Did £240 include the tyre? Sorry if that seems a dumb question!!

That looks spot on  do you remember where you got it from and probably another daft question but does it matter that the TPMS does not recognise that wheel/tyre?

I'm guessing that it does not matter as it is only on there as a spare?

Hello

I took the runflats off the front of my RAV4 T180 and fitted two Kumuho normal tyres (Cut the rings off with an angle grinder) When the rears wear down I will do the same to them.

I purchased a non Toyota Alloy wheel (new) on fleabay and when I receivd it I purchased a Tyre for it locally for a total of £215

Carry it only if I am going on a long journey - dont bother if I am just pottering around home ocation
