Was on the Toyotaeu website and saw this product,I am wondering if it can be sourced from Toyota UK? Seems like a half decent innovation.

I assume this stuff is what you're talking about? If so, it might be available in UK from dealers because my Auris HSD came with a pack.

Thanks for that Ashpole interesting you get it free with your Auris.Yes it is a play on a product that was out on the market years ago (so my Dad says). Would imagine it has been refine a bit since those days, especially with Toyota putting their name to it!!!!!

  • 3 weeks later...

About a fortnight ago I emailed Toyota Customer Services in Portsmouth, and asked them for info on Stickerfix.Have had quite a heavy dialogue with them and the outcome is that they have asked me to trail a pack, prelaunch. How chuffed am I, my Dad,s U/C has the odd chip and scratch so I will give it a go and see if it really does work.I will report back on whether it does work to both Toyota Uk and our beloved forum and see how we go!!!

....and just a daft wee suggestion for when it arrives, Clare. Punch out a perfect circle of the material using one of these standard office issue hole punch things, as it's always more difficult to see the edges of a circle than a rectangular repair patched area. Should I patent this idea, calling it the Chipped Patented Area....?

It's the Glesga accent, Clare. This stuff will presumably come in wee squares of the patching material. Just use an office paper punch to punch out small circles at a time to go over any single stone chip marks.....I did it years ago with this stuff from Halfrauds, and can only hope the leaps in paint/ink technology has improved it dramatically, as the invisible repair was anything but...!!

Big Sceptic

If it's not very effective Clare, you could always do it with THESE :2guns:

You could then dine out on the stories you could make up

Good find Davrav!!!!!!!!

Kev,I get your idea. The thing that will let this product down is the fact that it does not blend into the paintwork.By that I mean it "sits" higher than the existing paintwork, therefore one,s line of sight will always be drawn to it (especially if it,s on somewhere like a stone-chip on the bonnet). I think the idea in principal is good if you use it in an insignificant place on your car ie/ lower body parts that are not as visible to the eye. So I think it,s back to the Chipex formula for stone-chips that are on the bonnet and in the "eyeline". Another problem you have is when you polish the car, if you use a polish that leaves a white powder residue it makes the patch stand out like a sore thumb!!!!

Would welcome idea,s if there are any on how to blend it (the patch) better into the existing paintwork.

It looks rubbish. You could still see it was a sticker after. Won't it come off after a while when you clean it? I would probably get it if it was being sold in the Pound shop. Even better if it was sold in the 99p store.

Whiteclaw, with the greatest respect, and I take on board your,e comments,Toyota customer service have gone out of their way to to allow me to TEST this product. I have thru the forum tried to explain the pro,s and cons of the product, OK they thru their supplier might not have got it right but I really don,t think you would regard it as a Poundland product. If as I am lead to believe the price of the product is NOT cheap,it is for Toyota owners to vote with their feet.

If manufacturers like Aztro-zeneka didn,t come up with ideas like this and Motor manufacturers like Toyota take it on board we would never progress!!!!!!

When I bought my wife her Yaris new back in 2004, it came with a pack of these supposedly "invisible" patches in a range of shapes and sizes. We've found them to be very poor in use and on a metallic finish (our little Yaris is a dark metallic green) they really show up and stick out like a sore thumb. Maybe they'll be better on a solid colour.

If they are relaunching them, I do hope they are vastly improved. I'd sooner stay with a touch paint and a cocktail stick...
