Another Dog Guard Question!

Hi all,

I bought a Toyota dog gaurd - half mesh from a 2009 RAV4 off flea bay - item number 110659575807 if you are able to still view it.

Anyway it turned up, I fitted it to the car, or at least popped the pins/small bars in to the roof but then there are 2 screws - 1 on either side and I have absolutely no idea where they are supposed to screw to. Are there some hidden screw holes or am I missing some bits?

Okay, I'll answer my own question - I am missing parts, the 2 main brackets that fit under the seats.

Be very aware about buying from flea bay as this was described as a complete dog guard!!

I had been initially very unfortunate & the person that I bought the dog guard from did not realise that the brackets were a part of the dog guard & left them in their RAV4 when they sold it!!

They were that honest that they tried to retrieve them and the miserable bar stool who bought the car would not return the brackets even though they did not have a dog guard!!

I have tonight received a full refund and was told to keep the dog guard as it is useless without the brackets

So if any one has brackets, or can make them or indeed any one wants to buy a gaurd without brackets, then give me a shout :D

Shame. Try training the dog to hold the guard in place. Failing that,

- make up some new brackets from garden tying wire;

- Tie the dogs lead to the rear wiper

- sell the thing as a child safety cage

- sell the cage to the scrap metal merchants

- sell the dog

- invest in a MIG welder and make up your own brackets but also buy goggles or better a protected welding mask thats light reactive at a cost of some £1200

- sell the RAV and buy a small horsebox

- beware of recent buyers of RAVs trying to sell bracketry

Thanks for the kind offer Des but I bought another one off eBay complete with brackets so now have a full mesh dog guard (currently in the RAV) & half mesh dog gaurd that I can swap depending upon what mood I am in :D

WHAT ? You have bought another cage without buying 4 more dogs to put inside ? Theres a hint of miserableness there ! :lol: The country is full of homeless dogs if the people that keep phoning me are to be believed.
