My New Avensis And It's Faults So Far

This is not a Toyota bashing thread but I am a bit fed up with my new 2010 Avensis.

Issues so far;

On Delivery -

Loose rear shelf that was bouncing and rattling

Electric mirror adjustment did not work (faulty switch)

Steering off centre (30 deg or so off to left)

Wrong steering wheel fitted (Mine is a TR with TNS510 and has the voice activation button which illuminates but does nothing)

Since delivery -

Battery earth lead detached "on it's own"

Electronic handbrake issues (Failed twice, now makes bad grinding noise)

Numerous rattles developing from glove box / passenger door area

Clutch switch intermittent failure preventing the car from starting

ok some of those are not earth shattering, but they should not be happening on a modern car and whilst the dealer service department return calls, it's not the same with the after sales department and I have found Toyota GB to be less than useless, just burying their head in the sand saying it's between me and the dealer to sort out, or that there is no recorded issue.

I'm a bit fed up with it all now, despite the fact that I like the car, the design and the features, it appears to be a Friday afternoon job with very poor aftersales and customer care.

I am off to trading standards with a letter next as well as AutoExpress and What Car.

I had a 2005 T-Spirit Avensis - the 'voice' button on mine didn't work either, it was a standard steering wheel but the option for voice control hadn't been ordered (I bought a demo model)

The TR Does not support voice control it turns out, even though I got the dealer to confirm it did :) so things run a bit deeper. Car was new, not an ex demo as well, I had to wait a month for it to turn up.
