welcome - theres loads of dedicated fanatical oil-burning RAV 5 door owners on here who will sing the praises despite the hassles with the dnf clutch; various issues over run flat tyres (after your RAVs birth); turbo issues; egr/dvd/obd/rft/abc;def etc things that seem common to oil burning RAVs.

Easiest way is to do a search on the section for 2002 D4D ...

apart from that have a great time enjoying the RAV and remember to oil those hinges !!!!

hi mate

you ve bought a good toy/ now spend the time a lot and just read all entries about all possible issues.

some info is pinned and considered as safety ring for us. You should not feed your toy with bad meal ....

Cheers/Igor

Bothy is referring to the fact that, in his opinion, you have far too many doors on your car, and you must keep up the maintenance thereof at all times. He has two of the original Ravs, both with slight performance enhancements, but they both are THREE DOOR models, the only way to go in his opinion. Furthermore, you have bought a DIESEL Rav, so you cannae sink any lower....he is a petrol fanaticist.

Big Kev

Hi Night Shunter and welcome to the madhouse. Don't worry about our Bothy. He has a thing about 5 door RAVs. Some of us think its cos he can't count past 3 :yahoo::yahoo:

You have got yourself a good and very practical motor car. Like any designs there are some features that have proved to be weak spots over the years but you can find all about them in the pinned section up top here. Don't get too alarmed by what you read. It is all described there in very matter of fact terms by folk who own the cars and are very knowledgeable about them. One or two of them have even found the bonnet release lever

When I got my RAV everyone here was very helpful and answered the most basic blindingly obvious questions without patronising me. You have arrived amongst friends

Nightshunter... you have one of the best model RAVS, A: its a diesel, B: it has 5 doors, C: Best model shape, D: Has a spare wheel on the back

Mine is the same year as yours but i have over 140k on mine, used every, Yes I have had issues with it, my DMF failed (look in the pinned section about the dmf issues, the images are my old dmf) also have HP Pump go... but that's it, apart from wear and tear items... no other issues... Runs well, starts every day and loves the snow......:yahoo::yahoo: Just feed it Diesel, water and oil when needed.....
