Not sure if anyone has come across this before, but thought I'd post in just in case.

Recently noticed what looked like dried water stains on the inside panel of my rear drivers door, which led me to believe that water was leaking in. As the window is not a wind up one, it was unlikely that it was coming in through the innner membranes, but I checked just in case. Nothing found here. I inspected the window seal and found that the bottom part lifted easily and it was full of water inside. It looks like the seal was not bonded properly to the window surround allowing water the leak in under the seal. I had a look at the passenger seal and it is bonded tightly.

Looks like it is held on by some sort of contact adhesive, so have dried it out and will bond in place with some evo stik contact adhesive(the noxious brown gloopy one).

There doesn't appear to be any corrosion, bar a possible tiny bit, so hopefully this will solve the issue. As the possible corrosion is so small and isn't an actual exposed rust mark, I'm not going to mess with it.

Evo stik doesn't seem to be waterproof, so going to get a flexible windscreen sealant. Problem is, all windscreens nowadays are bonded in, so having difficulty in sourcing the stuff I need.

Hi Kevin65

One Morning I find the same problem with my Avgo!! Water at the bottom of the rear window!! ( been raining overnight )

I think I had sorted the problem now by opened the Window and make sure I closed it properly! by then I got no problem even just been raining overnight again last night!

hehe. I now always tell my kids do not touch the window : )

Mine had the water in under the seal, and it was trapped in there. Didn't come out until I lifted the seal. Bought the sealing mastic I need on eBay, but vendor isn't returning my emails, so will have to wait awhile before I get it fixed. Hopefully not have the go through PayPal issue resolution again

Word of warning, never open the rear windows......

Why?

I don't think they bond any of the windows in place on the Aygo. Mine has leaked from time to time at the rear and the drivers door (I park beside the house now if it looks like rain) and the pasenger window glass fell out into the door the first time the window was operated.

I have a three door and have not had any leaks. However there have been now 2 occasions where I notice a few large drops of water on the passenger side floor mat and can see a few drips directly above it on the black interior door frame seal/ edge. (this is of course after it has rained!) the car has been hosed and washed many times and I have even poured water directly into the gap between the door and body and not been able to replicate it. I have inspected the seal and found it to be OK also and am a bit perplexed!

Any ideas?

Rainwater has the ability to enter places where no amount of hose water could. I have in the past had to trouble shoot leaks on other cars. Would liberally apply water using a hose and wait, and wait, wait, but nothing inside. It rains overnight, and there it is!

I wonder if it's the angle at which the car is resting when it rains that allows water through?

Our Aygo is rarely left at anything other than flat and level, no leaks from rain or hosing, whereas some on here have no end of trouble.... Are those troublesome ones parked on a camber I wonder??

On flat ground all the time, but thanks for the rainwater comments!

I bought my brand new AYGO Blue in Decemeber and recently went to a carwash with a pressure washer. I noticed some drip marks on the upholstery of the passenger seat and realised that there was water streaming through both doors around the top of the seals on the windows!

I immediately took it back to the dealership and asked them to investigate. It is booked in next week for them to look at and I will post what they say.

I'm pleased to see other people are having the same problem with their AYGOs because now I have more of an ubiknal if they say there isn't a problem!

Hopefully there won't be another recall situation as my previous Toyota, a Yaris, was recalled TWICE!
