i have a n reg 1996 previa 8 seater 2.4l auto. when i put full lock on it squeals so i have adjusted the belt using the wing nut adjuster located i think on the altenator but the belt is showing signs of wear so i need to replace it. am i right in saying all i need to do is slacken this adjuster nut so the belt is loose and just slip this belt of and replace it with a new one.....i have found a haynes manual on Amazon but its for 91-95 previa models but none for the 96 model!....its very annoying that there is no workshop manuals for this car....it would save a fortune as when i needed the radiator replacing they wanted to charge £100 for fitting....i ended up doing it myself it only took half hour!....any help would be fantastic

Hi There are 2 Bolts securing the alternator, 12mm at the top and 14mm bottom, loosen both bolts and the wing nut slide the alternator to get the belt off. Replace belt, Adjust the belt with the wing nut until you can't twist the belt about 90 degrees, then tighten the 12 & 14mm bolts. You may have to remove the air-con belt if you have one, Also you may need lots of wd40 to loosen bolts
