Replacement Tires For L/cruiser

My truck is running on 265/65/17s,(s)

Can I swop them for 285/65/17s?(v)

Or will I run into rubbing ,legal,speedo problems?

I think they'll rub - there isn't a lot of clearance. You'll also have to think about changing the wheels - the 265s are a little wide for the standard wheel as it is - and if your tyres are anything like mine they needed more than 29psi in order to get regular wear across the tread. I found that 34psi worked better.

You can run 265/70x17 though - they just fit.

My LC4 has been transformed (especially in mud and snow) since I went to general AT2 tyres. Highly recommended, though I've found its best to run them at 36-38psi for road use.

I stuck with 265/65x17 as I've already got a couple of other mods and I wanted to keep my insurance sensible.
