2002 Rav4 Losing Power

Hi can any one help me have brought this rav4 d4-d on a 52 plate 89000 miles full history from toyota having problems with lack of power can be driving a long and the power goes can not go any faster than 30mph as you try to pull away you get smoke from exhaust turn the car of and wait 5 to 10 mins and its back to normal do a few more miles and just dies again this is my frist rav4 only had it three weeks been to dealer and they said have never come across problem i really need help (ps no lights come on) i just dont know what to do if i take it back to the garage they might just fob me of any help would be gratefull

hello mate

check with:

- SCV (both);

- fuel filter;

- bleed an air from fuel injection system;

- EGR valve (if it is blocked with carbon deposits inside)

By the way -- whether or not you feel abnormal engine noise at idle and at 2k-3k ??
