Chrome Grill

Hi Guys,

Am thinking of adding a bit of chrome to the front of my 2007 Rav4 XTR and saw this grill (see link below) on eBay.

Does anyone know if this is a straight forward piece to fit or does the bumper have to come off?

Any advice/opinion appreciated

Many thanks

Paul.

I think you will have to take off the front bumper. It's not as difficult as it looks - just get a helper, take your time and use a blanket to lay the bumper on

I looked into this in some detail for mine a couple of years ago, It will fit + someone who worked for toyota had done it to his bosses car without removing frt bumper, You can buy the chrome part on its own for about £25 however it is NOT possible to fit this to your existing grille, So make sure you are buying both parts  Mine is a simpler solution though IMO doesn't look as good, however it is stainless steel not chromed plastic hope this helps, if you need anymore info just ask  Stew

Thanks for the advice and attached shematic diagram Davrav! Stew I don't suppose you can remember the specifics for replacement without bumper renewal? I know you said someone on the site had spoken in a previous thread about this?

Many thanks

Have you seen this one Paul?

Stainless grille

Looks to be in stainless steel and applied from the outside similar to Stew's

Yes it looks good! I just don't understand why Toyota, in their invinite wisdom, did not do something as standard to the grill on these cars? They would look much better, in my opinion, with a bit of chrome!

Thanks again!

I would say the grille shown, TKS DAVRAV IS the same as mine, the picture is a bit misleading as it shows a "chrome" ctre, but the description says comes in 4 parts, I cannot help with the fitting, but if you have a good feel around for the fixings i am pretty sure with a few scraped knuckles and a good socket set it can be removed with frt bumper in situ, I seem to recall the member who did it removed a cross bar above the grille to give himself more room  Stew
