I washed and cleaned me car today and noticed i got a big stone scratch on me bonnet on which the paint has been taken off as well.

Does anyone know an easy way to cover it up without it looking like its been touched up??

id advise you to get a good local reputable bodyshop to sort it

my bros red T-sport seams to suffer from stone chips quite badly on his bonnet! :ffs:

it pisses my bro right off (im not surprissed!)

and he always seams to ask me y he gets it, and i ask him if he drives close to other cars' asses but he says no (and i know he doesnt!)

is it just my bro or do others find the yaris gets stone chips too easily???

i assume its coz the layer of paint is thin and that my bro is just unlucky with the amount of stones on our roads (not that i would say there is much!)

I've got one stone chip on the bonnet I'm not sure whether to use the touch paint I bought or get a professional to sort it. What do you suggest? Any ideas on price?

for small superficial chips you could always use someone like chips away to sort it

personally id nevcer recommend you DIY cos it always turns out like a dogs dinner!

My car's got loads of chips, dents and scratches all over it - does anyone know how much it'd cost for somebody like dentmaster or chips away to go over the whole car? or is it a 'per scratch' price list - if so, I'm buggered. :(

I've also picked up a few rockchips on the leading edge of my bonnet ( little girls hat?? :D ) -hood, I've just had the 3m hood protection film applied it covers the first half of the hood , this product comes highly rccomended by my uncle, who owns and operates a large auto body repair centre . Anyone that asks him about the car bras( another odd name) or plexiglass hood deflectors he will steer toward the film instead . It's practically invisible only the line on the edge of it gives it away .cost about $120 US to install.

You will always get chips, fact of life. I'd recommend getting them sorted - leads to rust if you don't (although Toyota's are fairly resistant to rust).

If you take your time you can DIY it - Halfords do some good touch up pens, and their red is a better match than toyota's touch up. You could have it done professionally, but that will cost big bucks.

As for scratches, t-cut and quality polish will help !

These dent repair specialists usually charge by the panel , but I managed to get my local provider to do a deal, as I had about 5 small trolley dents, all on different panels - he did the 5 for about £100 - perfect. Normally £40-£50 a panel.

Hmmmm, think I'll leave it til summer and see what it looks like when it's bright out.

I'll only get more before then anyway. Every mile or so I hear at least one loud 'PING' from a stone.
