Every so often the key will not start the car, for no obvious reason. I've had the starter motor reconditioned, and whilst it was dirty inside no faults were found. Does anybody know id there is a relay between the switch and the starter motor please? I might add that the car has yet to fail to start, but it is fustrating sitting in the car trying the key until in eventually starts!

i had a new contact set fitted to my starter motor , they get pitted from sparks and a gap begins to appear ,making it harder for a contact to be made .mine would sometimes just click when i turned the key .
