Rav4 T180 Black Alloys?

As I have to take my wheels off this week to remove the BRS rims and put now tyres on and change the discs and pads all round on my black Rav4 T180. I was wondering whether to have the alloys cleaned and polished and kept silver and paint the callipers black. Or have the alloys painted black and have the callipers painted Red (the same red as the T180 badge).

I saw the paint shopped Auris, while scrolling down this link Auris with photo-shopped alloys and thought that Black alloys and red callipers may look good on a black Rav4 T180.

Anyone got any photos of black alloys on a Rav4.3?

Anyone got any suggestions as to how good or how stupid this may look?

Don't hold back because once I decide and it's done I am stuck with them.

Lupidog, I have seen various 4x4 with black on black combo & in my opinion if looks good - got to go with the red calipers to set it off.

Are you thinking of a matt or shiny black finish on the wheels & have you considered a colour like anthracite?

Looks very nice & sets the car off really well if you are thinking that black on black may be a bit too much

I think anthracite would look far better than black. I had my civic type r wheels painted this colour and am thinking of having the Rav done too.

Black looks too much to me, unless on a white car.

I agree anthracite or graphite does look better than plain old black.... a kind of satin finish rather than matt or gloss. I am going to have to stick my head in some paint shops and try to find a colour.

Could always use Hammerite (joke).... I painted the bonnet and boot lid black using Hammerite on my old white Dolomite Sprint in the early 80's. Looked pretty good too. Well it was better than rust and primer.
