98 Corolla G6 To 4agze Supercharger Conversion

Hi has anyone got any details of a G6 to 4AGZE supercharger conversion?

Ideally info from the midlands, but anywhere will be useful :)

I wanna know basically, prices, time frames, things to be aware of. What else needs to be changed to support the extra power?

My little 89BHP beast is good fun but is starting to be in need of a kick up the ***** :)

:lol::lol:

try www.knowlson.co.uk thats looks better :lol:

the only thing you will lose when you do the 4agze on a g6 or a g6r is the 6 speed :crybaby:

about 1500 for the engine and another 1500 to install, shoul take about 3-4 weeks to do but every install is diffrent do you want front mount intercooler or keep the topmount? there are loads of things you have to think of before you change the engine

If you want someone who knows what they are doing with the conversion talk to Kevin at S&M Services in Droitwich on 01905 778368. He's an independant Toyota specialist and did my conversion. He's also put the 4a-gze into others Corolla models and put other engines into the ae111 bodyshell.

Some other things to consider are that the 4a-gze engine/gearbox/lsd is much heavier than the 4a-fe version and you need to beef up the suspension. Knowlson used the susperstrut suspension from his Levin front cut and I've gone for Fensport springs and Koni adjustable shocks. You will probably want to uprate the brakes as well (something I haven't got round to yet) but knowlson has the Levin disks etc on the front and a rear disk conversion as well.

If you go for the front mount intercooler then you will lose the aircon but the top mount intercooler needs a substantial vent in the bonnet.

Any other questions - just ask.

yeah i figured there would be loads of complications hehe.

whats the reliability like? from what i understand (which trust me is fairly minimal!) its a fairly old engine, early 90s? feels like im shooting myself in the foot when i think of taking a reliable new engine out and replacing it with an older one :-/.

does anyone know of anyone in the midlands that would be able to undertake that kind of job?

losing 6th gear. ooo thatll take some getting used to! the new lotus elise 111r uses a toyota vvti-ll engine with a 6speed gear box, would that still not handle the power of the gze?

what other areas of the car would need to be changed to (off top of head i can think of brakes + suspension).

from ur pics the bonnet scoop looks cool, but not too sure yet. how much difference does that make to the installation or is it just cost ramifications?

cheers

oh right, in that case then i would definately go for a top mount intercooler, cant do without my air con :)

so how much did the conversion cost for all essential bits + labour?

Budget for about 4-5k mate  that will cover you for all the main bits :lol:

My bonnet cost 450 to have the vent moulded in, sprayed and fitted
