New Auris Hybrid

Hi everyone,

I have been reading all your posts since I took a Auris Hybrid for atest drive in February and instantly loved the car.

It is a pleasure to join a forum where no one is continually moaning about the products they have.

After reading all the good comments about the car I traded in my Corolla T Sport for the new Auris Hybrid T Spirit and recieved it last week.

It is a pleasure to drive and the wife loves it to. It's great to get 53mpg average against 31mpg in the T Sport.

A quick question if anyone can help, is there an easy way to switch mobiles from 1 unit to another without going through all the Phone menus or should the bluetooth system recognise your phone when you enter the car.?

Terry.

Welcome to TOC

As to your mobile question, on our Prius we have 3 mobiles which are used in the car.

The car will connect with whichever has bluetooth switched on and takes the contacts from that phone....

Hope this helps!

Hi Terry,

You'll need to get someone to confirm it for the Auris, but it is probably similar to the Prius, where you can pair up to four phones. It just pairs automatically with whichever of the phones is in the car. It should give the precise pairing priority in the phone section of the handbook. Bot current and previous Prii behaved the same, although the phone interface was not identical.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, the Auris is supposed to take up to 6 mobiles, we have put on 2 but it does not seem to switch automatically to the mobile with you when you get in nthe car. Each time I have had to manually tell it through the menu system.

Looks like a trip back to the dealer for instructions.

Hi Terry,

I manually switch phones because, when both my wife and I are in the car, both with our phones, it controls which phone connects. I'm guessing that's why the Auris doesn't auto switch. Dave.

Hi Dave,

I went to my local dealer and they confirmed that the hands free will not switch phones automatically like the "Parrot", you have to do it manually as per hand book. Unless someone knows a shortcut.

Shame they have not used the parrot system.
