:help:

I am thinking of adding an induction kit & new wheels to my 1993 gen 5, will I have to inform my insurance company, if so will they still cover me or want an increase in premium?

A lot of companies dont increase the premium for wheels (unless they are hugely expensive rims). You should always declare any mod to your insurance company otherwise they are likely to refuse to pay out in the event of a claim. Its often worth asking for a re-quote before making mods so that you dont end up with a nasty shock after spending your hard earned( or ill gotten) cash on your car.

yep, as above, if you modify your car without informing your insurance, then you are not covered.

In the event of an accident, the insurance company will simply void your policy, if your very lucky, they will only reduce it to 3rd party only...

But either way, if you dont tell them, your in trouble...

Depends on the insurance company. I had to find another insurer because of the wheels I had and I just got a quote for putting an induction kit on and it put the premium up by £90 for the year.
