Buying A 2010 Verso - But.....

Hello all,

I'm looking to upgrade my Corolla to a 2010 Verso. At my local Toyota garage,there are about 4-5 2010 Verso's for sale. However, in all of them there is a square hole in the rear of the center console. When I asked what was missing, the salesman said 'nothing - this is how they come'.

I cannot believe this - to my mind, it looks as if there should be an ash tray or storage box that fits in the hole. Maybe, these Verso's have had these removed to satisfy a spares shortage or something

Could anyone out there with a Verso let me know if the salesman is correct and this is, in fact, normal ?

The salesman is probably correct. My 57 Verso SR has this 'hole' in the centre console and I thought exactly the same as you...what's missing? You can even see the screws/bolts that hold it down, which does look somewhat un-finished. Don't know if anyone is manufacturing anything that goes in there...even a lid would look better!

The centre console on mine has storage and a lid (arm rest)and the hole in the rear of it is to be able to access the the storage from the rear without lifting the lid.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply - it's set my mind at rest. I had a test drive of the Diesel version and was impressed enough to go ahead and buy it.

Now I feel guilty about not trusting the word of the salesman ..... :-)
