2002 Yaris T Sport Clutch Linkage

Hi

could anyone give me a heads up on a problem i have with my yaris t sport please

i have just had a new 3 part clutch fitted and the flywheel skimmed at a local garage

after 1 days driving the gear lever overtravelled in first gear and stuck and i had to force it back out of first gear, took it back to garage, guy said he had adjusted it but linkage was worn and would need replacing ?

before clutch being changed i have had no gear selection problems what so ever, only since they did the clutch

so i am asking is the yaris t sport linkage cables type? or the other solid bar/joint type linkage ?

do you think they bent the linkage when fitting the clutch ?

or is there another reason for this to happen

who should pay for the new linkage if it has to have one ?

thanks

Hi mate got a PM from you but it didn't ask a question, you just put your Email address on.

The linkage is cable and is not adjustable so i am slightly concerned why 1. there is a problem, and 2. they told you they had adjusted it.

The gear box is quite small so they shouldn't have bent anything, but they may have put the wrong grade of oil back in the box if any at all.

At the end of the cables at the gear box end the have rubber bushes that have a metal collar, this can seize onto the linkage and damage when removed.

Somebody may make a custom brass solid bush? these are available for Celica and MR2 models.
