Hello,

I'm in need of some advise regarding the Traction Control System on the Corolla TS. I think that i have a fault as i get a lot of wheelspin when pulling away. I get the Light on the dash flashing but it doesn't seem that the TCS is cutting in to stop the wheelspin.

I've had this in to the local dealer and they have put it on their computer and it says that the TC system is functioning fine.

Please can anyone advise if wheelspin is the norm, or whether i should push the dealer again to get this resolved.

Also the induction noise that I've seen mentioned, is this a fault that affects all Corolla TS or just a few. Mine gets noisy at 4k revs, is this normal or should I ask for a modification.

Finally. I've had a hands free kit installed which uses the car Speakers, since then their is a gap between the top of the radio surround and the dash. Any ideas how to fix this. Would removing the radio and pushing down on the dash make the opening smaller thus removing the gap?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me with the above, I'll be very grateful.

Hi

(1) My T Sport also wheel spins with TCS On, did think it was a little strange but it doesn't really bother me

(2) Mine is noisy above 4k maybe you should have got the T Spirit as this was the quieter version. You're brain filters out the noise after awhile anyhow.

(3) No idea about hands free sorry

Cheers

Tim

keep in mind that both TCS and VSC are made to start working very late, since its a sporty car... so yes, it will prevent wheels spinning but late in the game, believe me 200 hp on front wheels would cause serious spinning w/o TCS... just turn it off and start driving as normal to see the difference...

Basically, both TCS and VSC are there to prevent you from getting into trouble and not for you going faster... fastest way to go would be for neither of the controls to turn on

I have recently had my Corolla back from the dealer for an engine mod to reduce the noise at 4K its something to do with mis-aligned engine mounts????? anyway it has improved it a little but is going backfor some more mod in the next few weeks let you no the outcome. It`s the only thing that lets this car down.
