Toyota Did Something Right

I have posted this topic on the Rav 4 section as I know I will probably get a responce from Hoovie amongst others. For a while I have been going onto the Nissan Juke and QQ forums(albiet run by the same teams). When the Juke came out I was more than interested, so had a test drive, was not impressed,so left it at that.

It seems all is not well with the juke 1.5Dci engine (Renault sourced),the number of post,s regarding MPG for that engine in the Juke is astonishing. It has even had owners of a few month getting rid for other cars!!!!! and taking a big loss on them. The Nissan combined cycle is supposed to be 55mpg but most are cutting out at 30 to 35mpg.

The thorn in the side is that QQ owners with the same engine and a heavier car are getting alot better MPG on the same engine. They keep ranting on about DPF which they have just put on the Renault engine and the difference it has made (not a good difference I might add).

The reason I used the topic heading was to congatulate Toyota for producing a GOOD 1.4D4D engine, perhaps they could sell them to Nissan/Renault to put in the Juke and the QQ and have a half decent pair of cars!!!!!!!

Regards Clare

shame toyota wouldn't let daihatsu put that 1.4 d4d into the terios , what a blinding motor that would be, seeing as how most of the interior of the terios seems to be RAV4 based.

There are no T180 owners. We do not own our T180's, we merely have a symbiotic relationship. The gods take them back when we expire.

Have read the MPG thread on the Aygo section, they are really not happy with the Aygo mpg. It,s nearly as bad on the IQ section as well.I would have thought that the little 3 pot in the Aygo would have been a winner as regards mpg.I know this is an allaince with Pug-Cit and the car is built in Slovakia(correct me if I,m wrong) but is the engine built by Toyota or is it a shared thing. Biggest mistake they did with the Aygo (although they did for a short while) and the IQ was not putting the 1.4D4D engine in them (UK models)

There has to be something wrong then. Our 55 plate 70k miles 206 1.6 hdi runabout, glorified shopping trolley and collector of stuff from the builders merchants or agric coop has no trouble keeping to 60mpg.

Hi Mike,

Our 206 HDi is just the same. It has a slight propensity for front tyres but is otherwise boringly reliable.
