Have you checked your tyre pressures? This can make the steering harder to turn if they are low.

have you checked to see if the power steering fluid is low? Or has any bubbles of air in it?

if the fluid is low top up.

if fluid is black, drain and replace.

is that a big job draining ???

the power steering fluid is easy t replace just drain off old fluid then fill resevoir to full level. then turn steering wheel from left to right about half a dozen times to dispell air out of system. then top back upto full mark. that should work i did it on mine last week.

Hi,

Can somebody tell, how to drain the old oil out?

And how many liters avensis mk2 would take?

Cheers.

Hi, Let me suggest you some tips about your steering problem.

There may be a problem of worn steering gear and ball sockets in the steering assembly, and may be worn suspension system components and loose steering pump belt.

Well looking at manual of Avensis, it says Dexron II or Dexron III.

Has anybody changed power steering fluid? If yes, whats they way of changing it?

I am more inclined toward Dex II, as that is cheap, and I think avensis already had Dex II.

Anybody knows how to change steering fluid?

Cheers.
