In my last car, a Xantia 2.0L HDI; I downloaded ECU firmware, send it in for a remap - got more HP, more torque, and a bit lower consumption.

Can I do the same with Avensis ? - the goal is ; more power, at the same or lower mileage.

Hi Andre, Toyota Europe issue firmware updates at times when they see a problem developing and this can only be done at a Toyota dealers. The ECU on a D4D cannot be remapped but kit is available for your requirements and is available from Partsking on this forum Lindop Toyota in the Uk, most or none of the other kit available works as it just increases the fuel rail pressure and has been discussed frequently on the Toyota forum.

There is also another box you may want to take a look at. They have had very good reviews and can be adjusted to suit your needs. The box is called "TUNIT" and they around the £500 mark. But you can pick 1 up for less than £200 used off eBay. Gains will be about 30+Bhp and around the 7-10mpg.
