Anybody Else Using Autoglym Clean Wheels?

And if so does it have any strange effects on the RAV4 discs?

I've used Clean Wheels for years and it's the best wheel cleaner I've found, used it for the first time on the RAV and it left the discs looking like they had baked on gravy, y'know, how the cooker top looks after Sunday dinner

A quick run down the road and the pads had scrubbed it off but I've never seen such a weird reaction, do they all do this? There was no marks on the caliper or anywhere else the cleaner might have gone - just the discs.

I've used this cleaner on loads of cars and never known it mark a disc before, there's usually just a very fine dusting of rust where the rinsing water has wet the disc but this was a definite reaction. I do remember reading on the forum that the discs don't last long and begin to wonder what they're made of....

Autoglym does do the job but it is aggressive. I wouldn't use it on a regular basis on my wheels. I have tried loads of wheel cleanersa and the best I have found is Bilberry wheel cleaner. I wouldn't use any other product now its that good!

Cheers Blue, I'm back in the UK next month so I'll look some of that out, is it widely available (Halfrauds etc) if not where do you get it?

No Halfords don't stock it. It's too good for their shelves! There are a number of online retailers that carry it. It can be pricy but a 5litre container can go a long way when diluted 4:1 or 20:1. Worth also getting a decent spray bottle and chemical resistant sprayer. It clings to wheels and tyres really well just agitate with a small brush and it cleans them a treat. Never had any harmful effects and it's acid free :)
