Newbie With An Issue

hey guys an gals

my names nathan im 21 from ipswich

i just bought a 1995 2.0l gt

i originally bought it as a put me on car when my mondeo st died but thinking i might keep it

now to my little problem

when i bought it it had an old alpine 3 cd changer head unit in and its a bit dated and doesn't really work to well

i just tried putting my head unit in and the aerial wont come up so get no radio reception

can any body help please

did you use a toyota iso lead , 1 of the wires is for controlling the ariel up/down . or you could try running an earth wire to the unit body from an earth on the car
