Little Red Button

Hi All

Next to my gear shift i have a little red button. It has a sticker next to it but its in japanese.

Anyone have any ideas wat its for??? :wacko:

hiya and welcome to the club, I believe it is the button to allow you to move out of park while the engine is off, otherwise its an overdrive button, can't remember which :)

As Ryan said, its the shift lock button.

So basically, if you need to move the lever with the engine off (say, you forget to put it into park), you can press [and hold] the button to move the shift.

G stands for Gears... as they are obviously limited in the automatic.. :P

the g-limited was the entry model for the mr2, it's just a model name, if you have the auto there was only one real spec available which was the lower powered of the mk2 mr2 models althought there was a manual g-limited as well available in either the uk, us or jap markets.

ALL J-spec NA MR2's were G-Limited, the turbo versions were GT or GT-S..............right from1989-1999.

I think over the UK you get GTi etc instead??
