Smart Entry And Start System

July 2007 T180, 41,000miles.

Purchased this at the end of January with 39,000 on it, from Minories Toyota Durham.

Anyone else had the below issue?

- Enter car via smart entry

- Press clutch fully down, green light on start button appears

- Press start button

- Steering unlocks (i think....), opitron dials come alive, apart from the two displays which stay blank (fuel/coolant temp and the trip computer/warning message screens)

- Car emits a single warning beep

- Car doesn't start, the two displays in the opitron dials stay blank

- Nothing happens, the light is still green on the start button

To start the car, I have to press the start button again and it will start normally.

This has now happened to me twice.

Any comments appreciated thanks!

I can't say I've ever specifically had this problem.

However, the only problem I have ever had when starting mine is if my foot moves on the clutch immediately after pressing the button. It only has to lift slightly for the car not to like it.

Not sure if that helps.....
