Help!

Hi, Hoping someone out there can help, I've been registered with the Hybrid formum for some 12 months now, posted several times but generally a silent viewer, learning alot abot my Prius and how to drive it for best economy.

Now to the problem, nothing about the car, so you'll say I should have posted elsewhere, but recently when I tried to log on with my original username and password I got the message 'Username or Password incorrect', bearing in mind my log-ins are stored within a Norton antivirus package, I therefore thought it was something to do with this site. After a couple of days, still the same problem, so I obtained a new password but still same problem even with that. Tried through a link to contact administrators but not sure message got through, so had to re-register to get this post live to hopefully get an answer and back to my original username, etc.

By the way did think it might be a problem within my computer, and it still could be, but I did try and sign in from another computer and still the same problem occured.

Hopefully someone out there may be able to assist/advise on what to do, hope this message gets to one of the administrators!!

At the moment the only problem with the site I can find is that you cannot contact anyone for help unless you can sign on, fortunately I had another usable email address to allow this further registration.

Hoping to hear the solution, Steve

I have similar problems with Norton. Every now and then it will log you out completely and you then have the fun and games of trying to remember your password etc.

I found on this site it can be a so and so to sign in but I use my email address and password. If I try and use grumpycabbie and the password it doesn't let me in! Work that out! lol

I do not use Norton but a lot of my mates do and they get problems logging into sites. Grumpy Cabbie is correct.

Do you use Internet Explorer or Mozilla? Mozilla has given me problems in the distant past with regard to logging on to sites. Hope you get it sorted soon.

I've used Norton for years found it very good and when needed the 'help' line has been good. Most of the sites I visit where I need a log-in name and password are managed by the Norton system, and I've never had a problem logging in to bank accounts etc has worked perfectly over last week its only this site?. I use Internet Explorer and run on Vista. Thats why I tried logging in via my sisters computer using XP and again no success.

The main problem I found was that unless I'm signed in on this site then I couldn't seek help from anyone.

I don't have Norton, and I had the same problem on this site a while ago — ended up re-registering.

I used to be a fan of Norton software, commencing with the original Norton Commander 25 years ago.

However, it was taken over by Symantec many years ago, and for a while it continued to be good, its programs built on Norton's original product quality.

However, I ditched all my Symantec programs when they began interfering with my computer settings without asking or even explaining what it had done. Programs I had been happily using for years inexplicably ceased to function, and I even had problems downloading updates for common programs such as Windows itself.

I use AVG now, and third party tools rather than Symantec's bloated collection.

HI.

I recently had the same problem, I got logged out and could not get any help from the Admin people.there is a help button, which if you are not logged in, isnt, you cannot get though to any one, I spoke vie the forum to some of the guys, buy they could not help, I think its time the Admin people took a look at it I tried for ten days to get back on, with the same results as you, when I tried to use my log in address it came up, this email was being used by someone else, yes, me, so I think the fault is with the forum.

I managed to get back on after two weeks, I feel this is the most difficult web site to get on to.why!!

Had same thing here - http://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=122228&view=findpost&p=1096447

Bizarrely for a forum site it's NOT your username that you need to sign in with - it's your LOGIN name - which is different ...

Jon

Jon,

Thanks, had already done that, but looking back at past post realise now that I got a load of windows upgrades the other day, which Colin mention was his problem in the past.

I'd like to re-iterate to the form administrators, that if you can't sign in, you don't appear to be able to contact them if you have a problem.
